In June 2023, Dr. Laurie Leshin inaugurated a new plan for JPL, which includes seven strategic imperatives to guide the Lab’s focus over the next three years in anticipation of JPL’s 90th birthday in October 2026. The plan was designed to be an actionable and aspirational
framework, providing a common set of goals that will enable JPL to expand its positive impact on society, the environment, and the broader space-exploration ecosystem well into the future.
The plan is a living, widely applicable document intended for all JPLers. It was printed on newsprint and distributed via wire newspaper stands placed all around the Lab to ensure that anyone and everyone on Lab could quickly and easily get a copy. A freely available and fully accessible resource, the plan seeks to unite JPL teams in their shared passion for pushing the boundaries of imagination and achieving what others might think impossible – in other words, it empowers JPLers in their ongoing journey to dare mighty things, together!
